Southwest offers Companion Pass (CP) which essentially allows your designated companion to fly free with a booked ticket from the “primary flyer”….you just have to pay the taxes $5-$10.
This CP is attained with 125k Rapid Rewards (RR) miles accumulated in 1 calendar year or 100 one way flights.
To put this 125,000 RR Points in perspective that’s $125,000 unless you have a SW cc which earns 2x on SW ($62,500 SW Spend)
Now unless your business requires flying every 3 days then GOOD LUCK.
Let’s hack!
Sign up for SW RR Premier 💳 ($1k in 3 months for 40,000) Spend $4k more for an additional 35,000. With spend and bonus you’re now at a minimum of 80,000 RR Miles.
SW / Chase have a rule that you can only earn 1 sign up bonus…..fine print. “Didn’t say anything about being denied a business 💳.
Enter SW RR Premier Business ($3k in 3 months for 60,000)
Tally Time (143,000)
Card AF both are $99 ($198)
Spend requirements $8k
YES, “why would I spend $8,200 for that!?!?”….glad you asked.
Over the course of 1 year are you going to spend $8,000 anyway ($666/mo)?…why not do it on those 2 cards 🤷🏻♂️
WELCOME TO COMPANION PASS!! 👏🏼
CP is only good for SW but they fly to Hawaii & Caribbean.
We’re not done yet.
Earlier I said “calendar year”….so sign up and get approved for both cards around the holidays. Be a last minute shopper for Xmas because the miles you earn on the money you spend won’t post til after January 1st of the new year.
Why do this?…glad you asked.
The sooner you earn CP the longer you will have it for the rest of that year ANDDDD the following year. There’s your 2 years 👋🏼 👋🏼 @paidwithpoints
