@paidwithpoints is an account about traveling cheap / free using points that you accrue from daily spend.

I wanted to branch out today for 3 reasons.
.
1. Give people who have built up a large bill an alternative and temporary interest free option.
.
2. Build my relationship with Citi Bank.
.
3. Increase my line of credit to decrease my utilization rate, ultimately increasing my credit score in the long run.
.
Let’s get to it....

I recently applied and approved for the citi simplicity with a credit line of $2,500.
.
This card has no rewards but allows you to transfer balances (up to your line of credit: $2,500 in my case) with a 3% transfer fee and 0% APR over 18 months.
.
So that’s what I did. I racked up a $2,200 AMEX Aspire bill and decided to transfer it for a $66 fee to my Citi Simplicity. This basically gives me 18 months to pay that bill off interest fee. $123 / month.
.
One catch: your balance transfers have to be done within 4 months of account opening.
.
The transfer fee is either 3% or $5. Whichever is greater. $166.67 is the dollar amount where 3% would equal $5.
.
So if you have racked up a big bill or have been getting killed with interest...maybe the citi simplicity is for you.

So you’re interested in the travel hacking game but don’t know where to begin.

To simplify it for you here are 3 easy steps to follow.

1. WHATS YOUR GOAL? Before you apply for a card you need to know what you want to maximize....
.
Do you have a debt and want to avoid interest rates? Get a 0% APR, 3% balance transfer fee for 15-18 month credit card like the Citi Simplicity.
.
Do you want to spend a night at the @conradkohsamui infinity pool room? Maybe the AMEX Hilton Aspire or Surpass is for you.
.
Do you want cash back? Maybe the Citi Double Cash is for you.
.
Status: AMEX Platinum is a heavy favorite in my opinion.
.
Maybe you wanna fly @etihad Apartments....go for a Citi cobranded @americanair card.
.
2. SIGN UP FOR GOAL ORIENTED CARD. Get approved and work towards the signup bonus.
.
3. Collect & Plan: wait for the signup bonus to land in your account (if applicable) and start planning your free / cheap vacation.
.
Congratulations! 🥂 you just booked your dream trip, extended your window to pay off that house renovation, took cash back and invested it...etc
.
The possibilities are endless. You just have to get creative, hack the system, know how to maximize every dollar, and the world is yours for the taking.

For the last 2 years I’ve been working with @metalcreditcards. So, what are they and how does it work????
.
Simple. MCC takes your standard debit or credit card and turns it into a metal one with customization as an option. You can go as simple as turning your plastic card into a more durable metal one....you could also go for the 24k gold with chip enabled custom design data protection plan. They recently ventured into the wallet game too! 🔥
.

Is it safe? YES! I have multiple cards and never once an issue.
.
Do I need to apply? NO
.
What’s it cost? $99 - $398 per card. (The range is based on factors such as chip enabled, data protection plan (so no one can steal your numbers), color / card choice, custom design...etc
.
Why should I get this? One word...PROTECTION. Like I mentioned above, the Data Protection Plan blocks out some of your numbers on the back of the card so when you hand it over to pay for the dinner bill no one can steal you information. 👋🏼 👋🏼 @paidwithpoints

Step 1: Use Google Flights Map Explorer. This will give you best and cheapest airfare. You’d be very surprised how many “dream destinations” are within reach

Step 2: Credit Card Selection. Now that you have a destination and time find the right point / mile earning card to get you there for cheap if not FREE.
.
Step 3: Hack Habit. Be efficient and optimize that daily spend. Use the online portals, hit the multipliers, double / triple dip, use card combo’s or a trifecta to maximize every dollar.
.
Step 4: Sit back, relax, have a drink....you’re on vacation and you did it cheap! @paidwithpoints 👋🏼 👋🏼
